Intelligent Design Bullshit

In this past Sunday's Journal Times, there was an article about Republican congressman Rep. Paul Broun. In it, he called evolution, embryology and the Big Bang Theory "lies straight from the pit of hell". This man is a certifiable right wing religious zealot nut job. It's ignorant assholes like this that undermine legitimate science by continuously foisting off religious superstition as science to a largely gullible and ignorant public. Intelligent Design is a failed theory but because most people know little if anything about evolution, con artists and charlatans continue their "teach the controversy" bullshit. The reason these people do this is simple, money and power. Keep the public ignorant so they can be more easily controlled. Keep them believing that there's a great invisible being in the sky that constantly watches them to make sure they're not sinning. And, of paramount importance, get them to believe that they're this being's representatives on Earth and if you send them money they'll see to it that you get into Heaven. Intelligent Design needs to be thrown in the scrap heap with the rest of the failed theories. Its proponents need to be discredited and thrown out of the scientific community. This willful preying upon the ignorant by these fucking jackals must be brought to an end. Religious superstition has no place in science. 'Nuff said.
